We have three things to share with you today… Number One is this great Youtube discovery (above) in which a Jamaican woman gives lessons on speaking Jamaican Patois. It’s a great way to get a flavor for the language we’re going to be learning in Peace Corps, and we love this woman’s energy! We thought you’d enjoy it, too.
A New Page
Number Two is that we have added a page on our blog for general information about our Peace Corps placement. This is where you can find details like our mailing address without having to search through old posts. (Please let us know if there’s anything else we should include on this page.)
A Book Recommendation
Finally, Number Three is an addition to Michelle’s Recommended Book list. Simple Prosperity: Finding Real Wealth in a Sustainable Lifestyle by David Wann explores living a more meaningful, purposeful, fulfilling, and simple life by focusing on what’s important and spending less time, money, energy, and space on things that distract us from meeting our deepest needs. I have a feeling that when we return from living in a developing country, this will be a helpful tool as we try our best to re-integrate into American culture. I might be posting more from this book later…
